Ballooning on landing
The nose pitches up and the plane balloons back into the air when you cut the throttle to land.
💡 The idea: Downthrust is only pulling the nose down while under power — rebalance it.
Try these in order
Make one change at a time and re-test — that's how you learn what your car likes.
-
1
Reduce downthrust (shim the motor)
Less throttle-to-pitch coupling means less of a pitch change when you chop the throttle.
-
2
Reduce up-elevator trim to match the reduced downthrust
Keeps the plane trimmed level after the downthrust change.
-
3
Cut the throttle more gradually rather than instantly
Removes the abrupt pitch change that causes the balloon.
