RC Safety & Liability

RC is awesome. It also involves fire, speed, water, and aircraft. Read this.

LiPo batteries can catch fire if over-charged, punctured, or charged unattended. Always charge on a non-flammable surface, use a proper balance charger, never leave charging batteries alone, and store damaged packs safely. See our pinned LiPo guides.

Where you run matters. Many great bash spots are on private or public land where RC may not be allowed. A pin on our map is not permission. Do not trespass. Confirm the spot is legal and open before you run, and respect posted rules, other people, and wildlife.

Aircraft and drones are subject to FAA rules in the US (and equivalents elsewhere) — registration, line-of-sight, and airspace limits. Know the law before you fly.

Boats mean water access and drowning/retrieval hazards — never run alone in deep or cold water.

Speed runs and public areas: keep people, pets, and traffic clear. You are liable for damage and injury you cause.

Community-submitted places are not guaranteed legal or safe. Run smart.
