Desync — motor stutter or stops
A motor briefly stutters, stops, or restarts, usually under hard acceleration.
💡 The idea: The motor is dropping below the RPM the ESC needs to stay in sync.
Try these in order
Make one change at a time and re-test — that's how you learn what your car likes.
-
1
Enable Dynamic Idle, or raise motor idle %
Keeps the slowest motor above the minimum RPM it needs (Betaflight Dynamic Idle docs).
-
2
Adjust ESC motor timing (e.g., to Auto or higher on BLHeli_32) and set demag compensation to High
Addresses the underlying commutation issue.
-
3
Try a lower DSHOT rate / PID loop rate if CPU load is a factor
e.g. DSHOT600→DSHOT300, 8kHz→4kHz.
