One of the most legendary buggies in Kyosho's history and many racers' first-ever 4WD buggy. Used a ladder-frame chassis with rear motor and a sealed chain-drive system to the front wheels (rather than shaft drive), delivering a measured top speed of roughly 37 mph. Spawned the Turbo Optima (1986) and Optima Pro (1987). Kyosho has repeatedly reissued the Optima as part of its "Legendary Series" due to sustained collector and nostalgia demand.
