What it actually does
No-prep drag racing runs on an untreated surface with no traction compound laid down. That is the whole point: with limited grip, the challenge shifts from raw power to controlling it, and a car that simply spins its wheels goes nowhere.
In practice
Cars are usually rear-wheel drive with a wheelie bar, weight biased rearward, and carefully managed throttle delivery. Because grip is unpredictable, ESC punch settings, gearing and tyre choice matter more than peak power.

Wheelie bars are not decoration on a drag car — they are what stops it looping. Check the bar and its wheels before every pass.
