🏎️ Bashing
Driving for fun — jumps, sends and general mayhem — rather than organized racing.
The opposite of racing, and where most RC people start (and where most crashes happen).
What it actually does
Bashing is running RC for the fun of it — jumps, parks, skateparks, back gardens, dirt piles — as opposed to racing on a prepared track to a set of rules. It is how most people in the hobby actually spend their time.
In practice
Bash-oriented models are built for it: tougher parts, more suspension travel, waterproof electronics and gearing that favours punch over outright top speed. Durability and easy parts availability matter far more than the last few percent of performance.
Worth knowing
Bashing is hard on hardware by design. Keep a few common spares — driveshafts, arms, a spare servo horn — because the parts that break are boringly predictable once you know your model.
