🧂 Salt weathering

Intermediate

Salt masks off chips and rust spots so the layer underneath shows through.

🖌️ How it's done

Mist water where you want wear, press coarse salt into it, let it dry, then spray your top colour. Once dry, brush and rinse the salt away — the protected spots become chips and rust. Pairs well with a rust base coat.
