🧗 2.2 Class
Dedicated competition crawlers on 2.2-inch wheels — performance first, scale looks second. Frequently 4-wheel-steer comp chassis.
The 2.2 class is named for its 2.2-inch wheels and is the classic competition rock-crawling category. Rigs are built to clear the hardest gated obstacle courses, so scale detail takes a back seat to articulation, traction and steering (four-wheel steer is common). Golf-style scoring is typical (lowest points wins). Exact tire size, wheelbase and battery/motor limits are set by the sanctioning body.
| Named for | 2.2" wheels |
|---|---|
| Focus | Maximum competition capability |
| Typical drivetrain | Solid axles, often 4-wheel steer |
| Example rigs | Axial Wraith / RR10 Bomber, Vanquish VS4-10 comp builds, dedicated comp tube chassis |
📋 The exact rules vary. Tire diameter, wheelbase, motor and body limits differ by sanctioning body and event. Check the current rulebook for your competition — e.g. SORRCA for scale scoring, or your local club / series for comp classes. Blank beats a wrong number, so we don't publish measurements that change year to year.
