🧰 ESC Calibration
Setting an ESC to recognize your transmitter's exact full-throttle, full-brake and neutral signal points — needed after pairing new radio gear so throttle response feels right.
What it actually does
Calibration teaches the ESC where your transmitter's neutral, full throttle and full brake actually sit. Without it the ESC is guessing, and you get symptoms that look like faults: creeping at neutral, no brakes, or only part of the throttle range doing anything.
In practice
The usual procedure is to hold full throttle, switch the ESC on, then move through full brake and back to neutral following the beeps, with the wheels off the ground. Every ESC differs, so follow the manual for yours. Re-calibrate whenever you change transmitter or receiver, or adjust throttle end points.
Worth knowing
Always calibrate with the wheels off the ground. And if a car creeps forward at neutral after a radio change, calibrate before you start adjusting trim to hide it.
