🔧 Droop
How far a suspension can extend downward from ride height — more droop means a wheel can reach further down into a dip and keep traction, critical for crawler articulation.
What it actually does
Droop is how far the suspension is allowed to extend downwards from its resting position before it runs out of travel. It controls how much weight transfers when the car pitches, so it changes how the car behaves in the moment it takes a set — turning in, or getting on the power.
In practice
It is usually set with internal limiters or droop screws that stop the arm at a chosen point. Less droop limits weight transfer and makes the car feel more responsive and flatter; more droop lets it transfer further, which generally finds more grip on low-traction surfaces.
Worth knowing
Measure droop with the wheels off the ground and the same way at both ends, or you are comparing two different things.
