🏎️ Bouncing / packing — won't settle over bumps & rough
The shocks pack down and the car skips, bounces, or rides harsh over bumps.
If the car pulls one way, behaves differently turning left than right, or this started right after a crash, the cause is probably mechanical rather than setup — and no change below will fix it.
Run the 12-minute mechanical check first →Try these in order
Make one change at a time and re-test — that's how you learn what your car likes.
-
1
Thinner shock oil
Packing is usually oil too thick — it can't rebound between bumps.
-
2
Softer springs
More compliance over rough ground.
-
3
More droop
Keeps tires on the ground in the rough.
-
4
Different pistons (more/larger holes)
Speeds up shock reaction for choppy tracks.
-
5
Lower ride height slightly
Calmer over small chop (watch for bottoming).
