🏎️ Short Course Truck
A pickup-styled off-road racing truck on 4-link or independent suspension, sized between a buggy and a monster truck — popular in bashing and racing alike.
What it actually does
Short course trucks copy full-size off-road racing trucks, with bodies that cover the wheels and chunky bumpers. Those bodies are the point: trucks can bump each other and land badly without immediately breaking suspension parts, which makes them one of the most durable racing formats.
In practice
They are usually 1/10 scale, 2WD or 4WD, and race in their own classes. The enclosed body adds weight and catches air, so they are slower than a buggy on the same track — the trade is toughness and close, contact-tolerant racing.
Worth knowing
The body itself is a wear part. Keep spare body clips and expect to replace or repair the shell far more often than on an open-wheel car.
