🔧 Skid Plate
A replaceable plate underneath the chassis that takes the impacts and lets the vehicle slide over obstacles.
On crawlers the centre skid also carries the transmission and is a major factor in how the rig slides over rocks. Treat it as a wear item — it is far cheaper than the chassis it protects.
